33 ways to practice self-care

Today, self-care looks like skipping the work outing at the Mud Hens game in this beautiful weather. (You know when the 90-degree heat and hot soup feel good, you are not feeling well.) I was looking forward to attending with my girlfriend and coworkers, eating the free food and having a couple drinks. But sometimes, you have to take care of your health first.

This is an appeal to take care of yourself. Take time for you, without guilt.

My spring uniform

I can’t wait until warmer weather! It’s right around the corner, right? RIGHT? Here in Ohio, we’ve had a taunting handful of unseasonably beautiful days mixed right in with more not-so-beautiful days. So this mermaid is ready! And I have my warm weather uniform all ready.

My 2017 Oscars Best Dressed List

Tonight is The Oscars, my favorite night of cinema celebration, red carpet fashion and dreams come true! Below is my best dressed list with abbreviated captions so that I can get back to the show. But before I go, I do want to note the trends of the night - velvet, ruffles, feathers, champagne (the color... and probably the bubbly), metallics and shiny embellishments. Feeling fancy, incorporate one of these on your next night out!

Valentine's Day with Vanity Studios

Happy Valentine’s Day to my lovely friends, readers and those who serendipitously stumbled here! I’m glad you found my blog and are spending some time with me.

I recently reunited with Kristina and Josh at Vanity Studios in celebration of the day of love. Kristina, a super talented and creative makeup artist, came up with two Valentine’s Day looks. The first idea was a soft, romantic look, suitable for champagne and a candlelit dinner, using spring’s hottest hue, peach! Let me tell you, this color is flattering on just about everyone. I adored how it warmed my face with a soft glow.

Meet Maya, Toledo's Own "Project Runway" Winner

Maya is pictured third from left among models wearing her collection

Earlier this year, Maya Ramirez put Toledo, Ohio, on the map among fashion designers and those who follow them. The 15-year-old sophomore, who attends the Toledo School for the Arts, won the first season of “Project Runway: Junior”!

Be you

Apparently, to me, summer means summer break from my blog. I’m not sure if it’s the long days or my busy calendar that keeps me away, but I’m happily back at it. I hope you find your way back, too!

This spring thing? It's Banana!

When I opened the box from Banana Republic with a squeal of delight, I was pleased to see a vibrant cobalt and an army green – two versatile colors that I welcome for spring.
